Six disciplines, all under one roof, all done by our own team. We don't subcontract.
Hand-cut, hand-dressed stonework using Ancaster, Clipsham, Cotswold limestone and reclaimed York. All bedded in lime mortar as it should be. Dry stone walling also undertaken for garden and estate clients.
Typical projects: garden walls, feature walls, gate piers, stone window surrounds, chimney rebuilds.
We work routinely with Grade II and Grade II* properties, in direct liaison with local conservation officers and Historic England where required. Full planning and listed building consent assistance available.
Typical projects: facade restoration, roof replacement using salvaged clay tiles, reinstatement of period features, lime render and pointing.
Sympathetic extensions to existing period homes, and new-build rural houses in the traditional local vernacular. All in stone or stone-clad, with lime, oak, and clay tiles wherever appropriate.
Typical projects: orangery extensions, kitchen wings, garden rooms, agricultural conversions.
All timber framing cut by hand on our own benches using green English oak, traditional mortice-and-tenon joinery, and pegged assembly. No glue-laminated softwood, no catalogue kits.
Typical projects: oak garden rooms, timber-framed porches, garages, carports, agricultural buildings.
Repointing and lime rendering of period walls where modern cement has caused damage, or where original work has perished. We mix our own lime mortars on site to match existing.
Typical projects: full re-renders, tuck pointing, repair of failing cement pointing, basement & cellar damp-proofing using breathable limes.
Sash windows, stone fireplaces, flagstone floors, oak doors and inglenooks. If it's old and it's broken, we can almost certainly put it right — and if we can't, we know someone who can.
Typical projects: sash window restoration, fireplace rebuilding, flagstone laying, historic door repair.
Most of our clients aren't, when they first call. That's what an initial site visit is for.
